Greater Atlanta ASTD Takes a Bite Out of Hunger
Over 6300 pounds of food was sorted on December 9th as part of the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) of Greater Atlanta’s annual Food Drive.
Greater Atlanta ASTD's members donated 626 food items to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Founded in 1979, the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) currently distributes nearly two million pounds of food and other donated grocery items each month to more than 700 nonprofit partner agencies in 38 counties in Metro Atlanta and North Georgia. Community Food Bank (ACFB - www.acfb.org).
ACFB distributes more than 2 million pounds of food per month to families in need residing in Metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
Our community involvement food drive resumes in 2011. Help us reach our goal of 1,000 items. Simply bring non-perishable food items to any ASTD gathering whether it be a SIG/GIG or Chapter meeting so your contribution can be included in our overall count.
